Fast economic progress was accompanied by territorial growth. Although the Dutch experienced set up their Management efficiently more than Java through the mid-18th century and had step by step expanded their initial holdings in Sumatra above the course with the 19th, their Management more than the rest of the archipelago was patchy and incomplete.
